Under the Bridge (UTB) Outreach

Lost Sheep Ministry Volunteer UTBEach Wednesday evening, Lost Sheep Ministry reaches approximately 200-250 people under the Interstate Bridge in downtown Knoxville. This location is in close proximity to Knoxville’s homeless service organizations, KCDC housing, and homeless neighbors who live outdoors in surrounding areas.  We love for groups to sign up; however space is limited.  Please limit groups to 10 when signing up toward the beginning of the month and 15 towards the end of the month.  If you love Christ and His mission, please come out and serve with us!

  • Volunteer opportunity to help set up, serve, and clean up

  • Volunteers should arrive at 6 PM and check in at Volunteer Sign-In table.

  • Address is 500 McGhee Ave, which is off of Blackstock Ave.

  • No donations are accepted under the bridge.

  • You must be 13 years or older to volunteer.

  • All those 18 years or older need to sign one waiver form for themselves and any minors they are responsible for that evening.

  • All nursing students and medical teams do not have to click the link to volunteer.  Please call Rod Maples at (865) 688-9636 to schedule your days to volunteer.

Clothing (ongoing need)

Lost Sheep Ministry Volunteer clothingHomeless neighbors have little options for clothing. When clothes become soiled or wet, they must be discarded.  Clothing is given free during the Wednesday evening outreach.

Warehouse (ongoing need)

LostSheepMinistry_Volunteer_WarehouseVolunteers are always needed to assist in our warehouse.  Thanks to all of the generous donations to our ministry, we have plenty to sort out and organize on a regular basis.

Nightclub Guardian Angels

Lost Sheep Ministry Volunteer NGAEach Friday night (Saturday Morning) in Knoxville’s Old City, Lost Sheep volunteers intervene to help young people for whom a “good time” has gone too far. Between 12:00 to 3:00 am, volunteers offer a safe place, food, prayer, and an opportunity to sober up before driving home. If needed, a call to a friend or family member, or a taxi cab, gets them safely home.  In case of emergency, volunteers are alert to call an ambulance, when an overdose of alcohol or drugs is involved. This event takes place between the months of April – October.

  • Mature and committed volunteers needed to help facilitate program. Must be physically able to volunteer late nights.
  • Must be 18 years old or older to participate
